Latest News! 01/23/2008 We have movedto You will love the new look and features!
Our New District VP I would like to sincerely thank all of you for putting your faith in me and electing me as your vice president. I know that there is a lot of responsibility that goes along with this title, and I am honored that you all have selected me to serve you. I have a lot that I intend to accomplish, and as such I have appointed Tim Taylor as my AVP. I would like everyone to welcome him and have you all know that we are here to serve you. While I am completely open to ideas, after all I am a your chosen representative; I still have a personal agenda that I would like to accomplish in addition to what you all decide you would like for me to as well.
In a nutshell, I plan to systematically tackle key areas that I think are inhibiting growth in our district as a whole. From my perspective, Virginia is about our weakest area in the district. The only active flyers we’ve had in that state have been from the NVRC group, and thankfully Paul LaChance has decided to make a comeback. That is a start and I want other pilots to do the same, if they’re not returning flyers, then new flyers. That said, I want to first begin to nurture our participation amongst our Virginia pilots, and then try and get more pilots geographically in each of our other states. As a part of this growth, I also intend on us creating an identity that we use, and should be worn like a badge of honor. We are a very special group of people, and I think we should all begin to take pride in what we have. I want people to recognize our presence when a group of us travels out of district, such as going to the Nats. I also would like to try and increase our Nats participation levels. Something else that has been tossed around is the idea of more contests. For the time being, I am not going to push for more contests, however if there are new contests that pop up, I most certainly will not discourage them. I want to build participation levels within the district so that we have more pilots at contests rather than having more contests. I fear that more contests will equate to less participation at the contests, and I fear spreading ourselves too thin. I want to make this district the strongest it has ever been and a model district for others. Lastly, I will tackle communications. I will have an article monthly in the K-Factor, without question. These articles will include pictures. Buff Miller and I are actively working on the district website and I believe that it will be something of a spectacle to behold. Within the next few weeks, all of our active members will be receiving a questionnaire that I request that you fill out and return to me. Other than that, I really don’t have much to say. I want to make this real concise, but be assured that I am committed to excellence. If anyone has a concern, comment, grip, or compliment, please let either myself or Tim Taylor know and we will certainly do our very best to accommodate your wishes. Best to you all and I look forward to serving each and every one of you. Ryan

Web Sites! It has been one year since we made a major change to this web site. During this period we have experienced 3175 visits. We hope that you find this site informative. If there are items that you feel are missing from this site please contact the web manager with your suggestions. We will do our very best to implement your ideas. The main NSRCA site is going through the same transition. We thank you for your patience. I assure you the wait will be well worth it. For the really curious, please visit the new District 2 look by going to the new NSRCA and clicking the "D2" button under the "District" menu. Also check out the "Photo Album", "FAQ", "Calendar" and "Forum" tabs. Be forewarned. The pages may be yanked out from under you while you're surfing. It's pretty dynamic right now. Enjoy! The most important thing right now is keeping you informed with contests that will be coming up for this year. For that press the Calendar 2007 link or just continue reading. Top

Membership Campaign!Let's breath some new life into District 2. If you know of anyone that may be the least bit interested or is interested, let's see if we can't get them to take the next two steps; compete in a contest this year and/or join NSRCA. It can happen in either order or both, but let's see how many we can get interested in the year 2007. We did pretty well last year. We had a variety of flyers show up last year; some old faces returning to pattern and some brand new. Some made it to at least one contest and others made it to all the contests. Even some NSRCA members returning to the contest scene. See if you recognize any of them. 2006 Newcomers and ReturneesWelcome!Robbie Buffkin
