The Dragon Speaks!!

17 pilots braved the BS weather forecast and had a heck of a contest....

Sportsman had only 2 entries, but was one of the hardest fought battles. It came down to the last round, with Larry taking it by a mere 3 points!

Intermediate was a blowout with Chris Odom taking all 6 rounds, (keep your eyes on this one folks) but the battle for second was pretty heated. Dean is flying better than he has in a very long time and I'm glad to see all of the guys having such a spirited battle.

Advanced was a typical GMA bloodbath...with 5 of 7 being recent national trophy winners. it reads like an advanced all star lineup. Brandon Landry made the drive from Louisiana to go up against the locals, and did fantastic! (Thanks for the gumbo guys, that was awesome!) In the end it came down to the last round, with Gary Courtney now having won 2 straight and looking like the guy to beat.

Masters was pretty interesting. Because no local FAI pilots came out to play, Bryan Hebert elected to drop back and fly masters as an unknown. He did a pretty good job of it, but also proved the current masters schedule is no joke. A few zeroes from unfamiliarity with the pattern (2 of 4 instead of 2 of 2 etc) made for an interesting battle to the last round. In the end, Erik flew in some pretty nasty conditions and scored his first masters win. I'm sure it won't be his last! Especially if he succumbs to the dark side and takes the YS plunge.

Come on Erik, you know it's calling you.......LOL
