DISTRICT 7
California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah

a freak gust of wind, some call a small tornado, picked up Tom's plane from his stand and flipped it about 4' onto the ground - upside down! Tom had the plane in the stand for about 2 minutes, preparing to load the batteries for this next flight (electric Impact). On examination, the fuselage was cracked, the electric engine shaft was bent.. there was no flying this plane again in this contest. Tom scratched round 3 and after the contest on Saturday, he test-flew Scott Covey's POETIC and would continue on day 2 with Scott's plane. You can be sure Scott will NOT let Tom forget this kind act! Going into round 6 on Sunday, Chris lead by only a few points. With the last round completed, and the scores announced, Chris had won by less than 5 points!

In Sportsman, their own duel was going on, with Chris Belden and Vic Anderson duking it out till the end.. Vic winning by only 10 points! Good flying guys.
