Sportsman Pattern Primer

Richland Off-Road Vehicle Park, Richland Washington

 

 

This is an introduction to precision RC aerobatics in AMA class 401 and open to everyone who is interested in Pattern Competition or just wants to improve their aerobatic flying skills.  Any AMA legal Aircraft is allowed (subject to inspection) so fly what you have.

 

 

There is no entry fee

All contestants receive a certificate

Lunch available at the field

 

Experienced aerobatic pilots will be on had all day to assist

 

  • Registration opens at 9:00 AM

  • Introductions and discussions of how a contest is conducted at 10:00 AM

  • Presentation on Pattern Fundamentals/ Sportsman Class maneuvers at 11:00 AM

  • Lunch Break at 12:01 PM (Lunch will be provided)

  • Demo fly sportsman routine at 1:00 PM

  • Guided practice-pair up students with pattern pilots at 1:30 AM

  • Students fly actual sportsman routine with judges at 2:30 PM

  • Awards and closing at 3:30 PM.

Location: The field is located near Richland Washington just off highway 240.
